We moved back to Queen Creek, Arizona on Memorial Day Weekend. Scheduled to load up at 8 am that Saturday and our movers never showed up. They called us to tell us they didn’t have enough men to send our way, even though we booked and reserved a date months in advance. Our church family came to our rescue and dropped everything they were doing to come and help us load our entire house. It took about 5 hours to load everything with help and we were on the road West bound.
Deciding to make the move a year before we sold our home, therefore it was not an easy decision. As we come to love our small country town in North Dallas. Weather is one of our main concerns. The hail storm back in April 2017, the size of softballs, damaged two of our vehicles and the outside of our home. It took a year to repair all the damage, only to fear that it would happen again. Missing our old lifestyles, being able to be outside, also we missed our friends and adventures. For those reasons, it was time we packed up and moved back “home”. Yes, I had my dream home but material things just are not enough to make you happy. It’s the people and how you live your everyday life. As well as, feeling safe in your surroundings.
In conclusion, our summer has been wonderful! We made it safe on our drive across three states. Unloaded and unpacked everything with only minimal damage. The house was unpacked within 3 days. We are getting settled and love being back in the desert. It’s so beautiful and I can never get tired of seeing mountains all around me. Many pool days with our friends and just enjoying ourselves for the first time in a long time. I have started booking fall sessions with our existing clients here in Arizona and it feels all surreal. Happy to back and things are getting back to normal. Also, I can’t wait to see everyone this fall!!
The girls start school in one week on July 24th. Seems like summer does feel extra short but looking forward to fall break already! Also, we love the shorter school days, early release days and 2 week breaks in between.
